But the FT said an oil tanker?

" A Ukrainian naval drone has struck a Russian oil tanker in the Kerch Strait near Crimea, in the latest in a series of bold strikes that signal Kyiv’s use of unmanned vehicles is becoming more aggressive and effective.

The attack on the vessel took place early on Saturday morning according to Russian reports and a Ukrainian official with knowledge of the operation. It was the second attack on a Russian vessel in 24 hours, after Friday’s damage to a naval ship outside the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Saturday’s operation was carried out by the security service of Ukraine, or SBU, in conjunction with the country’s navy.

A video released by Ukrainian authorities which could not immediately be verified showed a naval drone striking the side of the tanker, which has been identified by Russian officials as the SIG. It was operating under the Russian flag and has 11 crew members."

also appears to be showing anchor lights, though not easy to see with b&W camera

Yep, it's a chemical transport ship that just happens to transport oil products, Kerosene recently for Russian aircraft in Syria in particular.

Ukraine has declared the Russian black sea ports a 'War risk area' as of last night. Which I believe means they feel free to attack any shipping heading to or from them.

I imagine the Russian refusal to renew the grain deal has something to do with targeting their ships in the Black Sea.
This report on BBC.news made me wonder what'd happen to any Russian speculator who bought up cheap housing in Mariupol. Russian media presents glowing reports of rebuilding at a fast pace and one guy says he likes the cheap prices for apartments overlooking the Black Sea but neglects to mention the circumstances where the Ukrainian Army comes a-knockin' on the door.

Interesting documentary on the radio about the finacial situation in Ukraine

Interesting to note that they are receiving aid in the form of loans and grants

Loans need to be paid back with interest

50% of the aid is repayable loans from the EU

The majority if not all of (?) US and UK aid is via grants

A Russian factory making military optical equipment has been damaged by a large explosion.

Russian authorities say it was caused by a fireworks accident.

That sounds plausible.

"Incident follows a string of similar explosions at industrial sites across Russia in recent months"

"A factory in a city near Moscow making optical systems for the Russian military was rocked by an explosion on Wednesday, which sent a column of smoke into the sky and injured 52 people."

The Ukrainian 82nd Brigade is apparently engaged around Robotyne in the South East.

This is interesting as they're operating the Challenger 2 tanks we donated and were one of the better equipped units held in reserve.
