Ukraine counter offensive

The Ukrainian 82nd Brigade is apparently engaged around Robotyne in the South East.

This is interesting as they're operating the Challenger 2 tanks we donated and were one of the better equipped units held in reserve.
Where did you hear that; have you a link?

If they're sending in a reserve unit it may be a breakthrough in Russian lines, using the Challengers to exploit the opportunity...

Tough hombres, these guys.

Various sources, although none imply a breakthrough. Ukraine seems to have switched from trying for a breakthrough to grinding down At multiple points until the line crumbles.

One down, 59 to go

Though it is common for a large proportion of military equipment to be unserviceable at any one time.

47th Mechanized brigade has taken Robotyne.
They have evacuated the remaining civilians using Bradleys.

There are also reports of fighting well south of the village.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) confirmed that Ukrainian troops had achieved "significant tactical successes" in Robotyne on August 20-21. If Ukrainian forces advance and retake Melitopol, located at the intersection of two important highways and a major railway hub, they could use the city as a springboard to liberate the whole Zaporizhzhya region.

The 'copter' type drone has a shorter range which suggests they are being launched from within Russia. Whilst most eyes are on Ukraine, this attack presents another threat bearing for Putin to worry about.
I'm surprised that more of this is not happening, and just think what a few stingers could do outside airfields.

Bit of a damp squib, Russian had plenty of time to harden defences and its proving tough to breakthrough, winter is around the corner with more time for Russians to repair defences and prep again.

Cant see ukrainnian gaining.

With Trump getting into power, support for the war effort will be gone.

Ukraine retook Robotyne, if they can push further towards Meritopole then they can close the ground supply route to Crimea and take back everything to the west at very low cost. They don't need to take Meritopole itself, just get to artillery range of the road or cut it a bit outside the city.

Russia is pulling a load of troops out of Kherson seemingly to reinforce.
