A spate of speed camera thefts in Sweden may be supplying Russian drones used in the Ukraine

Over a 100 such cameras have been pinched from the road side

Over half of em were pinched in one day

Just the camera part of the equipment has it is being pinched

For a drone camera to be of any use one needs to specify the purpose of the drone:
1. Surveillance - as the speed cameras are fixed focus cameras. they'd need to be a set 50 feet away from that being surveyed. That would make them very susceptible to being shot down, and render most of the footage unusable.
2. Attack Drones - If the objective is to capture the immediate view prior to the drone's impact, the footage would give only one usable frame. So as good as useless.
3. Blind attack drones - don't need cameras.
4. Target Practice drones - don't need cameras.

According to Nikon, it's a highly skilled job, even if they knew how to do it, and had the supplies.

The Canon EOS 800D DSLR (similar to the Nikon) and found on the drones (not a Nikon) is available on the open market. Second hand for about £500.

There appears to be some discrepancy over the make of the caneras:

In it sits a Canon camera attached with velcro to a small steel plate, the same model of the missing Swedish speed cameras, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports.
