No.Is that what the Spanish tried?
Let's not forget
The French surrendered and collaborated with the a Germans
The Italians were there allies
As were Hungary Romania Finland
Spain were neutral but Franco was hitlers mate
Austria were mis lead and annexed
They would have sailed up the Thames, headed North and attacked Essex. Once that quickly fell the rest would have been easy. Only those North of Watford would have resisted.
Blighty was on her arse. Not an easy invasion no, but doable.
Not really. The Germans being able to cross the channel in force, was an impossible dream of Hitler - they were on a high and thought it possible. We had a very capable Royal Navy, the Germans had almost none, mostly barges in which to risk making the crossing, they would have really struggled to get heavy equipment across, under fire. The RAF remained strong and capable and was becoming even stronger when the invasion was planned to take place. We were far from 'on her arse', far from beaten, just not capable of beating Hitler back in Europe.

could never have happened?
But not beneath them.Believe it or not, Britannia really did rule the waves at that point in time.
Nonsense. Hitler chose to invade Russia instead.Spot on.
This is why Hitler always believed that he could do a deal with Britain and why his priority was the defeat of Russia and not Britain.
Had Hitler defeated Russia he would probably have turned his attentions to Britain and the empire.
