What have you bought today?

I've got 'em all. Waitrose, Tesco, Nectar, Boots, Superdrug, Boots, Co-op, John Lewis, M&S, Matalan, Halfords, B&Q etc. I don't carry the physical cards with me, they don't cost anything and I store all those on the Stocard app on my phone so they are always with me.

I don't know why I'm holding out about the whole loyalty card, data sharing thing. But it still feels a bit uncomfortable. I know it's illogical, because it's unavoidable when I buy from Amazon etc.

At least this way I can benefit from Nectar Prices. I'm new to this, but the savings from Nectar Prices seem to dwarf the value of the loyalty points I would get if I registered it.

7.5L of Dulux Trade Weathershield masonry paint, and thus far, 7 pints of Kronenbourg.

Unfortunately, no loyalty cards were available for either transaction. I will however check out the Stocard app. I have only recently downloaded the Tesco and Sainsbury cards- only because they seem to have punitive prices (on some products) for people that don't have their respective loyalty cards.

I have loads on mine. I’d have a pretty fat wallet if I carried these and my credit/debit cards around!

If you register, you get both.

With Sainsburys, the balance of the scheme now seems to be very much skewed towards Nectar Prices, rather than the points. I've just been reading the same is happening with Tesco. There must be a good reason, but it's beyond my little brain to work it out.

If I spend £500 a year at Sainsburys I would get £2.50 worth of points. I'm not going to register with them just for that. However, with Nectar Prices, I could sometimes save several times that on a single purchase. (I can see if I registered I would get the points as well). I think it's an interesting evolution in the schemes.

You can connect nectar points through eBay, Esso, Argos and others. You can also convert Air miles to nectar points - 300 air miles gets you 400 nectar points.

I hadn't realised it was such a big scheme. Do they all award points at the same rate?

Today I’ve ordered myself an iPhone 15 Pro. Been a while since I’ve upgraded my iPhone to the latest greatest….. Ordered direct from Apple and even managed to get a trade in on my old SE. Got to wait now until the end of the month before it’s delivered though.

Just ordered 4 new tyres for the A3. £390 delivered. I'll fit them and balance them myself. I always buy branded tyres for my own cars - Pirelli's P Zero's this time. Apparently the rears could give Kojak a run for his money. Took a 14 year old student to bring them to my attention. Whoops!

I bought two medium cod’s and one portion of chips tonight.

How much do you think I was charged. No extras, no peas, no Wally, no onions, nothing extra at all.
