Some Valspar bathroom paint from Block and Quayle.

We got some last week from Wickes. We went there because the last lot we bought there a decade or more ago was brilliant.

The lot we got from Wickes was absolute rubbish, and shiny to boot.
We also got some mould killer which did sweet FA.

If I could be arsed, I'd take them back for a refund, but it's a fair drive away.

The Valspar paint is Matt and miles better.

Just don't blame the cat, OK.

Mould Killer is a waste of time: i've never used any one of 'em that made a jot of difference.
Anti-mould paint seems to work ok, though.(y)

Synthetic footwear (like the plastic football boots that are all the rage nowadays) smell the same once worn, even after cleaning.

Second-born decided, after a couple of seasons, that he liked leather boots more, so that issue went.

He now plays golf, and his under armour golf shoes have the same stink.....

Son No. 3 plays rugby. His rugby bag is now on the half landing. For a while I've been saying to Mrs S that it smells like the cat has peed in the hall. Last week, I twigged what it was. His boots stink!!

It was.

But a decade or more ago, we bought some, and it was really good.

Quality has decreased over the years?

Angle Grinder from B&Q
Just started cutting some tiles in situ this morning, clouds of dust, funny noise then I realized there was smoke mixed in with the dust clouds and a nasty burning smell different from the cutting disk, switched off and backed out of the dust to see smoke pouring out of the motor!!
Ohh well I reckon about 5 years from that one, cheap as chips so fair value.
New one also cheap £30 so if I get 5 years that's £6/year

Plenty of anti mould paints for ceilings in white, Zinsser is a good one. In colours I've used an additive from Brewers.

Last time I bought it a few years ago it was about 15 quid and a small bottle will treat 10 ltrs of paint.

A pair of new tyres for the Golf. Clipped a kerb and tore a hole in one of them today. Luckily they were both due for replacement anyway. Just gone for cheapies - Toyo Proxes, C/A rated. £95 delivered.
