Do you get new films on Debrid?
Not always the moment they come out. Most of the 'free' movie/TV content on kodi addons are low quality and/or full of adverts. Ones streamed through Real Debrid are generally of a higher quality (up to 4K) and buffer free. For just over £2 a month though, it’s a no-brainer.

On the Fire ???? generally, you get access to lots of films, TV series, you name it - likely you will be able to find it with the right software side loaded. There is plenty of free software/free servers, but as Mottie you can subscribe for a better service.

The more expensive/more wanted films, tend to at first show as pirated by webcams in the theatre, often plastered with foreign ads, and poor video and audio - you would need to be pretty desperate, to watch those versions. Eventually, better copies will appear, without the ads. For instance....

A few weeks ago, there was a new Michael Caine film released, 'The Escaper' or something similar. It was only a minor film, of little interest Internationally, and appeared on the Fire systems soon after, and top quality.

There are various Fire systems, the most basic being the Fire Stick, better is the Fire Cube, which you can talk to, talks back via Alexa. The Fire Stick is just a dongle, which plugs into the HDMI socket, hidden on the back of the TV. The Cube, a 3x3x3 box, sits under the TV and does all the Stick does, and more. We have a Stick, Cube, Dot, and another like the Cube, but flatter, without the internal mic and speaker (???). They can all interact with each other, and you can interact with them, plus they can interact with Smart devices. Smart devices as in remote control of plugs, lights, TV's and etc.

For instance, if I cannot find the remote for the TV, to turn it on, I just say 'Alexa - turn the TV on'.

Not buying today, selling!

I sold my Snap-On MIG welder and auto-darkening welding mask. Got a good price for them too. I haven't used it for at least 10 years and to tell the truth, I didn't even pay for them out of my own pocket - I bought them for a place I was working on their account and they accidentally fell into the back of my car when I was leaving that place many years ago. ;)

I bought an air bubble. Right in the middle of my rustic roll.

That was swift!

What do you think of it?
I’ve got it now and TBH, I’m not overly impressed with this OLED malarkey. Can’t really see much difference between this and my old telly. Picture seems 'darker'. Mind you, there’s a zillion and one settings on it so probably got a bit of fiddling to do yet.

I'm thinking of replacing our Samsung which dates to November 14. I don't always remember when I buy things but this one was bought while I was in hospital with a badly broken leg.

I have looked at LG TVs which I quite like, but I'm not sure about the remote.

Me and my middle lad are Prime customers and we have found a Fire TV that has an "invite only Prime deal".

A bit of lottery. There are X TVs available at a huge discount and we click the invite button to have a chance to buy one at the discounted price.

I don't expect to get one, but it's worth a try.

We would get a 55" TV for £150 instead of £550.

Series 4 Fire TV.

I think I'm with you about OLED. I can't see (or at least, I can't appreciate) the difference.

Superior colour means little when I have visual disturbances with tints of colour.

I think that's the one I'm unsure about!

Regarding the Fire TVs, Omni QLED is better, but for a ton fifty, I reckon the lesser TV is OK.

Edited for clarity.

They sell an optional better remote, called a LG magic remote. It works similar to a mouse.
That’s the one my TV came with. I think it’s great - works fine.

That’s better! Turned off auto power saving and got a much brighter picture. Also fiddled about with the settings so that it doesn’t start up on the Home Screen and goes straight to whatever was last on - TV or Fire Cube. So many settings though…..

One gripe, with my soundbar in front of the TV, it blocks the signal to the remote sensor and a little bit of the screen. I have it stood up on end next to the TV at the moment so will need to modify the stand to lift the TV up by about 30mm.
