mandie hun... try again.
Dont just say you cant make them.
Mine were always useless but I have practised and they were lovely.
You can do it too.

I struggled with the beef dripping until the day and used lard until then.
I used vegetable oil in the past which didnt seem to work very well.

The lard was ok (you know bought in the shop.. white stuff) but on the day of judgement I used the juiceoff the beef and the taste was much much better.

I found that when I made the big one, I couldnt be sure when to get it out but I reckon that is just more practice needed.

Also, I have done them in the ordinary oven this time as opposed to the fan oven and they seem to work better.

God I was like a child watching them through the glass but in a cool, not letting the mother in law know sort of way!!

they didnt all turn out with a dip in the middle and most were just risen up all over.

Tasted scrummy and kept some to try when cold too... yes lovely.

Despite cooking every day.. its only recently I have started doing roasts and whilst maybe not so healthy.. they are delicious meals and hey...its all about balance.

I have tried standing the batter and doing it straight away.. and I havent noticed any difference.

Dear Toffee, Thankyou for inviting me to lunch yesterday. It was lovely, especially the yorky puds, I love 'aunt bessies', my favourite. The dogs seemed to enjoy all the left overs. Next time you're over can you bring some rennie cos I've run out. Love M.I.L
