Zion and the Art of Armageddon

UN seemingly not acknowledging this, civilian death rates have fallen dramatically.
According to who?
Hamas still not interested in a ceasefire.
Well we all know Israel backed down on the current one for some reason and also what HAMAS want.

Interesting - if Israel bombed the 2 buildings the 4 hostages were in they would probably be dead or injured. Israel know they have already killed a number of them.

I seems Israel has rescued 4 hostages via an attack. Air, land and sea. Under fire and it seems very low troop losses. 1 ??? Maybe there will be more complete reports.
Great news for Benjamin who really does need it.

Meanwhile the more recent styles of attacks continue in a number of places.
That is excellent news.

I wish them every success in freeing more of the remaining hostages alive.

The daytime operation in central Nuseirat freed Noa Argamani, 25, who was being held in one location, and three men – Almog Meir Jan, 21, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 40 – who were found in a second place. All surivors of the Nova music festival. Didn't think any of 'em would make it back after going through Hel. An estimated 80 hostages remain.

After the news broke, Benny Gantz delayed his planned speech today...having the good sense not to piddle on their parade.

Really freeing innocent civilians taken hostage by a terrorist invasion and those combatants being held as prisoners of war. Are you that stupid.

So far 7 Israeli hostages have been saved by military force.

105 were released as part of a negotiation.

It's great these four were recovered but it's the least effective way and the IDF are still killing more than they rescue.

The UN’s special rapporteur on the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory said the release of four Israeli captives held in Gaza did not need to come at the expense of hundreds of Palestinian lives, including women and children. In a post on 'X', Francesca Albanese said she was “relieved” for the four Israeli captives, but added that Israel “could have free all hostages, alive and intact, 8 months ago when the first ceasefire and hostage exchange was put on the table”.

“Israel refused in order to continue to destroy Gaza and the Palestinians as a people,” Albanese said. “This genocidal intent turned into action,” she said. “Israel has used hostages to legitimise killing, injuring, maiming, starving and traumatising Palestinians in Gaza.”

Crystal clear to everyone but the dedicated followers of Fascists.

There are indications backed up by UK docs that have been there and have contacts there is that the preparation for the rescue were unusually barbaric. Daytime as most attacks have been by night. Israel release shows ~12 IDF going in over open ground plus a helicopter.

We may hear that a hostage(s) was (were) killed. Just a mutter so far so may not be true.

The 2 hospitals that are available are very small and not really intended for the type of work they are currently having to do and can't cope with the numbers of even injured following attacks. It's been like that for some time now.

There is a general feeling around that the only sensible solution is an end. TBH I have a feeling that negotiation ideas put forwards (US) are more of a look we are trying to do something about it all rather than a real intent. The problems with a solution of this sort are too obvious. It also needs relating to what might be called general Israeli population feeling on the subject - leaving them rather unhappy.

Hamas are claiming 3 hostages were killed and have posted up a video.

One of the Gazans killed was an Al Jazeera journalist and US charity worker?, he may have been holding one or more hostages at his home.

If they can get Yahya Sinwar that would be decisive, he's supposedly still in Gaza, in a tunnel. But even if they don't get him now, he'll likely have a tragic accident at some point in the future.
They can't kill them all.
I've no doubt that Hamas and their supporters have taken the above into account and planned accordingly.
Israel is a work in hand.
Rather than a hammer blow, it will probably be death by a 1000 cuts over a long period. Its been 75 years or so and Israel is no more secure.

Yahya Sinwar, the top Hamas leader in Gaza, now hidden in a labyrinth of tunnels and agonisingly out of reach for Israel’s military, Sinwar is said to have risen to prominence by rooting out collaborators before spending 22 years behind bars – time, he says, spent studying Hebrew and his enemy. “I am a specialist in the Jewish people’s history, more than many of them,” he says.

Denso by name dense by nature. Now let me know where the hostages were kept that have just been freed. Hamas detention centre or normal Palestinians homes?
