Big Numbers today

Not sure what to make of this given certain news but it seems to be the only data available

Don’t you need to baseline against the %age of the population?

Where did you get the idea that moderately well paid jobs have been disappearing? How would you define this?

Maybe but not available and needs relating to ethnic life expectancy. To be honest I don't think there is much difference in that especially for people who have lived here most of their life or born here.

It's something that has been mentioned for some time now and again especially as things have "got worse" in the past. Simple view - less people in lower and middle management mostly due to the companies not being there any more and structures being rationalised. An example I have seen in manufacture. Typically in larger companies there would be a work manager, sometimes a director. Under him would be a number of foremen then comes the people who do the work. What has tended to happen is the foremen have gone some of who would wear suites. Then a few workers might get called team leader and paid fractionally more. Technical areas much the same but the team leader might be called something like project leader. Previously there would be a number of well paid specialist below the director who ran the entire area. Sometimes the specialists still exists but on lower salaries so in real terms they are now project leaders.

If that's the 'simple view', the 'complex view' must be a corker.;)

Has the chart of death rate : prosperity been published yet?

Not as far as I am aware. There are regional figures for all, not ethnic. If anyone is interested I could knock up a chart. They are per 100,000 people.

"In the past 24 hours, ministers said just under 76,500 tests were carried out,"

Even less than the 80,000 which they pretended were 122,000 on 30th April.
The government came in for criticism for including 40,000 tests which were dispatched by post and may not have been taken.
Since then, the number of tests has dropped by about 40,000, according to official statistics

Disappointing.

Are you asserting that people in deprived areas have less chance of getting quality healthcare if they develop Covid-19?
Or is the argument more about their overall health, vulnerability, ability to work from home etc?
Or are you thinking those with Private medical can get access to the best oxygen etc?
