Budget

That’s way closer to the truth than the vote leave liars.

“Take back control”
“Get back control of fishing”
“Cut red tape”
“Cut immigration”
“Massive new opportunities”
“German car industry”so what one was it that made you vote
“They need us more…”
“Food will be cheaper”
“Shoes will be cheaper”
“Take back sovereignty”

All f****g lies and fickos like you still lap it up.
Remind us which one it was that convinced you to vote brexit in Notch

I see you've backed away from your earlier claim.
not backed away at all there was various comments at the time from the chancellor B of E chairmen etc etc about immediate collapses .
And even if the two links are referring to months afterwards it still never happened

Two things that will happen with rents - they will go up because the landlord now has to pay extra Stamp duty on a new property to rent out so from then on the tenants will be paying more and also current landlords are not going to want to have to pay extra CGT so instead of selling a property that the gov is forcing ever increasing £ burdens upon they will keep it and just increase rents.

Really - find me some links from the time. My recollection is that they said it would be damaging to the economy.
Recent estimate is £38b.

The new report, by Cambridge Econometrics commissioned by City Hall (1), also shows that London's economy has shrunk by more than £30billion. The average Briton was nearly £2,000 worse off in 2023, while the average Londoner was nearly £3,400 worse off last year as a result of Brexit, the report reveals.

Was there extra CGT on property?

If, around the time of the referendum, you had invested in a European index tracker, then, today, you might have gained twice as much as if you had invested in a UK index tracker.

Hello, Cap'n hindsight is back again with his investment coulda woulda shoulda advice. I’m just surprised he hasn’t bragged about buying Bitcoin when it first came out, such is his financial foresight.

Oh dear, poor JohnD quotes a "Euro" tracker and doesn't appear to realise it includes the UK.
