It was where I thought it was but it’s fine & not broken etc.

So this flywheel key is the one under the recoil then remove that large nut & pop off that fin part.

A puller, will likely be needed, to get the flywheel off.

They dont have to be completely sheared to stop them running

It looks like a see saw shape.
Don’t see it broken.
I wasnt able to turn the flywheel when it was fitted.
The key was in the slot on the shaft where it should be.

No jaggered edges.
All smooth just like it should be I suppose.

Lost In The Light thanks for your offer but I opted to look for one that I could swap over.

Today I picked up a mower & once back swapped the engine over.
I decided to use my own carb & fuel tank etc & half an hour later it’s up & running.
Thanks for the help in previous posts but I decided that my original had died & then time wasn’t on my side.

I will start a new post with regards throttle control
