Conservative vote winner?

Would you really ?

Yes. When I kicked this off (inadvertently!), by using the word gammon, I was not thinking about white people at all. I was thinking about any angry right wingers who support the old tropes such as national service and the death penalty.

Do you have to be right wing to support either ?

It's the sort of thing usually supported by angry right wingers. That's why I used the shorthand gammon in my first post. It's certainly sparked a revealing debate.

The difference is I'm telling the truth ;)

Maybe you're just not used to conversing with people who are so tolerant?
P*** (inhabitants of) stan (land).

Break it down and it's harmless. Unless you find it offensive.. just the letters make it sound offensive.

If say we broke down to shorten Sunni Muslims ☪️ as just Sunni! It wouldn't sound so offensive. It's sounds bright and cheerful.

Yet if Pakistani's find the shorter word offensive! Should that not be respected?

I am particularly enjoying the ill informed debate on post 16 education...

you can leave and just get a job...although you are supposed to do some form of education and work 20 hours only...although this is not legally enforceable.

You could just become a neet..not in education, employment or training, along with 18% of all teenagers...again not enforceable as there is no sanctions regime.

You could take a vocational course... unfortunately for those wanting any form applied education you will need a level 4 GCSE in maths and English... who would have thought you need a level 4 gcse to cut hair.

In reality some 35% of children leave education with no formal pass marks in anything.... we could just sort that mess out or we could go for some gimmicks... All we have done is return students to the 1960's and an effective leaving date of 14yrs - if they are not getting any qualifications whats the point they are just sat there bored stupid...

all the education system is doing is turning out a sub class of people existing at poverty levels to fulfil the most basic low paid work roles propped up by our taxes in the form of working tax credits... we don't need cheap labour from abroad we are making our own.

Sorry, Bod, I don't follow your reasoning this time. Could you make it simpler for me?

Do you know what **** Stan actually means ?

It's bad that the people that use the word as insulting don't understand its meaning.
