Putin, arse, elbow

No they can’t.

for all its bluster, Russia is scared of an escalation in which NATO and the West get involved.

Russian airforce has been scared of missions over Ukraine, it’s losing too many aircraft - that’s why there was no air superiority by the Russians.

no according to many military experts.

in fact Russia has had its troop size reduced by around 25% from death or injury.

Morale is extremely low in the Russian army, they have had to use anti retreat units who back up the Troops and stop them retreating.

They have been

mind you the Ukrainians have blown up a few stopping Russian movements.

MUch of that I don't find . Russian losses due to anti-arrcraft missiles started off high, so they're now flying higher, out of range, and using stand-off aircraft-launced missiles.

It's been on the BBC a few time that Ukraine's railways are still working. P maywant them left for civilians to get out,r for hiw own use, but if they're used forwestern arms, the chice changes,. It was reorted tha the train-carried slovak aa system is destroyed. It was on a train which one observer said took 30 mins to pass. That's an easy target.

Sanctions are reducing SAM production capabilities :) : https://ukrainecrisis.org/820860622...ns-shut-down-russian-sam-production-plant-gur

There seems to be a mood that the Ukranians are doing sooooo well. PLucky little Ukraine. Well, Russia has used up some cannon fodder but has a fair bit left.
How many Russian towns have been demolished?
How many Russian civilians have been killed or forced to leave the country, or even their home town?
Whose suppies of water, power, oil etc are more threatened?

It doesn't have to go on. Russia could stop it all today. But they won't.

That too is a fact and it seems sanctions are unlikely to have any effect on that. Or take a long time if they do. Best hope really is their military taking on too much and failing.

You do know that Russia invaded Ukraine, not the other way round?

Unfortunately you may be mentioning reality.

I think one of the problems is a tendency to see Russia as an unadvanced country. It isn't. Also info that is around, Our of interest I wondered about semiconductors. No surprise they have some companies. Comments on one oh it makes soviet era chips. If it can't do a better job now it would be unique world wide.

Wow. I didn't know that. I'll tell you another fact. The whole thing earlier on has a very murky past involving various armed groups and not just the Donbas lot.

I don't understand any of that.

The infamous uprising that changed the president was not clear cut. It was armed, various groups as well as large demo's. The handling of the Russian language also has it's odd aspects such as use which ever you like on a town basis and then changed.

It seems other things may have been hit in various places - arms dump mentioned but news jumbled.

Mention of 8 hits but no clear details on what and where other than an admin building in Kharkiv where a fire also spread.

No news on the Mariupol soldiers other than Zelensky saying no more peace talks if taken out and that these wont surrender. Also that he is able to continue the war for 10years if needed. It seems info out of Mariupol is now impossible for news sources anyway.

What are you on about?

Ukraine is not invading Russia.

Russia invaded Ukraine and its failing badly - it tried to take Kyiv and failed, it tried to take Mariupol and after 50 days still hasn’t succeeded.

If as according to Russia is winning, how come Putin is desperately trying to recruit Syrians to fight…oh and he is trying to get retired veterans to come back.

And I’m sorry but you are wrong to suggest Ukraine should have simply surrendered….if Russia takes over, their way of life is destroyed.

recruit Syrians to fight

I could comment on every line but thought that this one is the mmmm one. Do you think a few dozen Syrians would make much difference. It's just a political statement.

We are hearing loads of those even from Ukraine.I will add one thing - the Ukrainian soldiers in Mariupol are completely cut off and Ukraine appears to have other things to worry about - their troops in the east finding themselves in the same situation. That is what is expected anyway but as has been mentioned Putin's lot sometimes aren't predictable. it's what the west expects to happen next.

Reports state 150 have all ready arrived in Moscow

12 or more recruitment sites / centres in Syria

pay is approx 600 to 3000 dollars per month as opposed to 20 dollars in the Syrian army

Assad is in hock to Putin so is not going to stand in the way of many Syrians who are encouraged to go to the Ukraine

A figure of up to 16000 has been bandied around ???
