Putin, arse, elbow

Reminds me of a missile strike on a shopping mall were for some reason a camera was waiting to capture it.

There are several cameras in my high street. Another on the roundabout.

Do you interpret that as meaning that conspiracists are planning an artillery attack?

America are sending the latest loitering drones, the Phoenix ghost.

it can hover for 6 hours whilst it chooses the perfect target.
Worst name ever btw. You can tell they put them together in a rush without time to properly workshop the branding.

Something like 7000 vs 4500 yards

Both russia and the usa have stuff that can cover 20+km, This is one of the smaller ones they have plenty of, 122mm

Effective firing range15.4 km (9.6 mi)
21.9 km (13.6 mi)
(with rocket-assisted projectile)

I doubt if the USA would bother sending a rather early gun that I think fits in with the range you mention.

A more modern Russian one 152mm that can shoot smart ammunition, uses satellites etc.
Effective firing range(OFS): 30.5 km (19mi)
(OFARS) 40 km (25mi)

The UK makes one that can have the same range with certain ammunition. All will. :( That's how the arms race works.

An AlJ repprted I mentioned has moved. He is near an area that is being shelled. A Donbas city. Seems there are 2 that are critical. So far suburbs only. The Russians have taken a town 46km away. Their old mobile rocket launch stuff can reach that sort of distance. The similar rocket stuff now is up to 90km depending on the calibre used and can fire all sorts. This one is in use in Ukraine,

No but you don't know what was being covered or the type of camera do you. It wasn't an artillery attack either. But fine carry on posting similar that in no way elate.

I was indicating a ratio, I don't remember the numbers.

NO idea what you meant to quote - it mentions Korean, German, Belgian..... Uh?

The yank ones are quoted as M777 or M198 155mm howitzers with "better range and rate of fire (4/min)", than what the russians are using.
They're being coy about the exact details.
18 howitzers - doesn't sound a lot , but they're many $millions each, with I think it was 40,000 rounds going with them. 40,000!
In 2017 the US had 40 miles range, developing up to 80 miles.

The Phoenix ghost - slightly different depictions here of what it looks like!:

They are fired from a tube and open up ;) or do on the switchblade

Bit of a spec here

Knock out power is rather weight related which changes the duration they can loiter for. I saw footage of a Ukrainian anti aircraft missile launching vehicle. Not much damage but abandoned. It wouldn't take much to achieve that so any level of knock out can be useful. It's service wagon was severely burnt out. Thinking of Russian rocket launchers that can take out 30 hectares in 20sec it wouldn't take much to mess one up.

Sorry it's a Ukrain launcher but that was one the BBC came across.

The way they usually find out about arms is the fairs where all and sundry flog them. Past that I suspect the info is sketchy other than what the military can spot in various ways.

Odessa had 4 ship launched missiles sent it's way. 2 shot down. Some civilian stuff hit and military. Kharkiv some strikes but no details.

6 hours for it to be taken out by bye bye anti aircraft or anti silly buggers missile for those who hang around in a war zone.
What is your point.

Given the cost of a SAM and a switchblade that's still a win for Ukraine. Assuming it'll track something that small. And assuming anyone can see it to shoot it.

Gatwick airport couldn't even tell how many times it got buzzed by drones. Civilian drones that were just there to muck about.

America loves hi tech gimmicks.
Wars aren't won by gimmicks, the Americans dropped more bombs on Vietnam than on Germany during WW2.
At the end of the day, it will be down to foot soldiers taking territory.

2 British ships were sunk by similar hi tech gimmicks during the Falklands war but they didn't alter the outcome of the war.

So what? Do you think Ukraine should just surrender?

I think that was the one that hit the big Russian ship. Extended range initially based on a Russian design

The tube idea on the switchbade is so they can be carried back pack style.

I wondered what Russia has kamikaze drone style. At least 2 used in Syria and info suggesting they have moved on with flight time but no indication of being able to do 6hrs. That's bound to depend on the explosive and all up weight. One of the Russian ones is delta wing and intended to penetrate tank turrets. Ukraine claimed to have shot one down. I did see of a shot holding one type of drone he had shot down but not one of those. However they are all light so a rifle would do it if hit.
