It's $20b for weaponry. Fair amount to keep Ulraine's gov running, bit over $5b from memory. Some for refugees. Mention of oligarchs funding Putin but not clear about what they intend to do. Being an oligarch is thought to mean chipping in when needed. I have heard mention of that on other occasions.

USA money. Matched maybe based on GDP by the others. Biden said they will match it.

Forgot - Biden has to get it through congress - expected to be passed.

May 9th is looming

the Russian annual lets showcase our weapons systems to the world
Ball cocks :ROFLMAO:

will Putin ditch the special military operations waffle or will he call for mobilisation ??? Telling the Russian population it’s a war :?:

recent poll in Russia says that 71% of Russians have a positive attitude to uncle Joe Stalin

no surprise there than :ROFLMAO:

Currently the pundits are saying Russia is hotting things up. More of a rolling start than rapid. Pundits also think that as the ground is now more solid cross country travel through fields may start.TBH from what I have seen both sides are doing at least some of that now.

Another pundit PHD in this field for a change reckoned Russia will do what they are doing now and only advance significantly when they feel they can get a useful gain. Reports mention 2km gain per day. There isn't enough info coming out to tell what is going on now really. Reports show that fighting is going on in areas not shown in the war map. They appear to be after one small city in particular. That wont be quick.

It seems there was another fire in Russia just over the border this morning.

Ru is edging forwards. Even if all the announced howitzers etc arrive at the fronts, they'll be 100's against Putin's 1000... Ru can blow the bridges to stop reinforcements from the west. Then use a big bang against the "legitimate targets" to the west of the river.
If the west gets more involved, then China may support Ru.

So I can find the link: dailywatch

Ukraine mentioned 500 Russian heavier stuff moving around. Maybe yet more troops?

Look where Dnipro and Zaporizhia are on the map. It would seem there is action in that area. It fits in with trying to cut off all Ukrainian troops in the west. Might indicate splitting the east and west along the river line right back to Kyiv. That I believe is how Ukraine was split in the past. They are nearing Zaportzhia.

The 100,000 Ukrainians in Russia seems to have turned to 600,000. One lady who was interviewed was happy with that but her mother who remained was killed. Mariupol. That caused her to return to Ukraine.

The steel works - mention ok for civilians to be moved out. Comment that troops will have to understand they must remain. The man from the UN wont comment on the outcome of the talks. His visit is concerned with sorting that out and other routes. Putin it seems agreed. Red Cross and UN. Not clear at Ukraine's end but talks positive.

Russia hit Kyiv while the UN man was there!

Shocking reports on the radio of the treatment of Ukranian civilians taken to Russia

torture seems to be the order of the day

Russian army for you nasty mob

Why would China support russia if the west gets more involved? russia is a insignificant partner in trade compared to the west, China won't put there economy at risk for a Country that imports less than Singapore.

There have been reports opf that for a few weeks no. Aerial shotsof tended camps, etc. The story was that they wee all forced, though some probably were OK and some just gave in for an easier life. They'll be foreigners in Russia though.

To defeat USA, and have Ru owe them favours.
Russia's military is bigger than China's.
Sooner or later there will be a spat over those islands the Chinese are building in the S China Sea/Philippines Sea, or Taiwan.
So say the pundits, anyway.

Reports yes

they have interviewed a father and son ( civilians) who were taken to Russia on the radio tonight

who gave there account of the treatment they received whilst in a
Russian camp and prison

the young fella has had to have all his toes amputated due to the cruelty that was meted out by the Russians

People who have gone say different at times. It's another mixed messages as is meeting Russian soldiers. I've heard one account that was entirely different to what was reported. People involved against what media was saying. One bloke so far that was hit, on the head and legs so all are. That's the only report I have heard anyway.

What China has said is sanction us at your peril. They are likely to do what suites them. More exports to |Russia will probably feature but that needn't be weapons. As far as I know their gas pipe hasn't been built. Will it or wont it be - who knows.

Afraid the war of words can't be ruled out. The mystifying thing over all is what Russia expects to get out of it all. Actually that makes me wonder about the run up. it's a war of attrition now for negotiating power and neither side currently will give up. The west's part wont either. NATO are saying the war will last for rather a long time.

Because Russia is willing to help them in ways the West isn't. Russia as a strong ally means they have more weight to push their desires elsewhere.

A friendly Russia also means cheap Oil, Coal and Gas that the west can't cut off.

That relates to the east west split argument. Another will it or wont it. The mighty USD is seen as bad news by some. Most of the real money is in the East these days.
