Putin, arse, elbow

You are suggesting that Russia will sell oil, coal and gas below world market prices
They are already selling oil to India at knockdown prices.
You seem to forget that the vast majority of the worlds population don't live in the EU.
Russia should be part of Europe and a reliable supplier of cheap commodities that Europe needs.
Unfortunately the EUs behaviour has forced Russia into an alliance with China.

The Russian soldiers in the Press Conference asked for the press conference not for propaganda
It is still illegal to put prisoners on show whether they give consent or not.
It is obvious that the so called press conference is being used for propaganda purposes.
It is also illegal for media companies to transmit images of these so called "press conferences" whether Russian or Ukranian.

your childish EU hatred
Correct. Some people can't get over that. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Fact is Russia exported a variety of stuff all over the world. Not just oil and gas. The USA imported ~$16b from them in 2020 - not oil or gas. The UK $25b some fuel. We export near $3b to them. A lot of their imports come from China.

despite the advice of the rest of the western powers,
Trump rather recently. Merkel a lot earlier. Why did it go that way - oh so simple - same as why some countries are buying it now. Cost, convenience and their economy. The more astute may have noticed that there was a shortage of both oil and gas before Ukraine kicked off. They are fundamental to most country's economy. Russia's absence at any point would probably have caused problems especially with gas due to ever increasing use. It doesn't grow on trees. Actually behind the scenes some appear to be wondering where to get what is needed from. We for instance want 10 nuke stations. We aren't the only ones that want more. Boris reckons one a year. Well a number of PM's wanted more.

There is an economic war going on as well and not just the one that runs the actual war.

The EU may have many faults, but you can only put this one on putin, The EU should not have become reliant on russian fuels but we are where we are now, and that reliance will dwindle over time.
The EU would have been stronger with the UK still a member, our nuclear weapons would in the current climate give the EU a bit more confidence in making decisions instead of relying on France alone.

Utter garbage. Russia invaded a sovereign neighbouring country and are completely in the wrong, no ifs or buts.

Articles 13, 14 and 17 refer to the use of coercion being banned, they do not mention voluntary exposure to public curiosity being banned.

Putting captured P.O.Ws on show for propaganda purposes is against the Geneva convention on the treatment of prisoners.

It might be, it is debatable. However, Vladimir claims it is a special military operation, not a war, therefore they are not POW's.

on show for propaganda purposes is against the Geneva convention

The Geneva Convention (III) relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War, doesn't mention propaganda at all, not once.

Why is it that these days it is the left wingers who are mad for war with foreign countries.
Obviously you haven’t yet twigged it was Putin who invaded Ukraine

when a dictator starts a war, it’s not possible to avoid it.

by the way, I’m not a left winger nor keen on war.

I suppose you are angry because you voted for Putins Brexit, hence why you are supporting Putin

the EU is an economic global superpower, similar in gdp to both America and China

Who totally rely on little old UK for financial services, the global economic super power you refer to aren't even capable of operating as a clearing house for their own currency.
It's also becoming clearer by the day how reliant this global super power are becoming increasingly reliant on the military support of little old UK.
Global super power? bagofshite.

War - no body ever really wins over all. Deaths and destruction doesn't fix itself.

Anyway. Looks like there are UN vehicles escorting coaches out of Mariupol. Very slow progress due to check points - both sides. Some choosing to go to Donbas. As a reporter mentioned both sides will report as they see it etc.

Russia will probably grab and examine all mobile phones. Seems they will be going to the place beginning with Z which appears to be on Russia's hit list now. The name of the one beginning with Z is a bit tricky to remember.

Now there are arguments about how many civilians have been let out of the steel works.

:mrgreen:I don't know what you take but it must be rather mind bending if you think all is as simple as that.
