Putin, arse, elbow

This seemed on topic.

Ukraine is hoping for a break.

New towed and rocket pieces, if delivered quickly and in large quantities, are expected to become the war’s key game-changer.

As the military says, massive supplies will not only help suppress dominating Russian field artillery, the key factor behind its battlefield gains, but also pave the way for an ambitious Ukrainian counteroffensive.

Seems like Macron has upset the Ukranians with his latest comment about Russia should not be humiliated ??

Again the word “ fracture(s)” ? were used on the news during an interview with the US ambassador to Ukraine

As said France and Germany are the loose cannons in the alliance
German bloke will generally do as he is told by Macron

France up to skulduggery behind the scenes hmmm if that is the case
Nothing new ( scoundrels)

Russia will continue to exist long after Putin has been consigned to the dustbin of history.

There is no need for the rest of the world to humiliate Russia. Putin is doing that. He is also damaging its economy and its political and social structure.

The French have supplied guidance systems, etc to Russia (note: the article referred to was posted earlier this year - more has come out since then), so Macron is presumably doing the usual French brown-nosing job. The Germans, meanwhile, or at least their politicos and industrialists, don't want to do without Russian gas - despite popular opposition

Both countries have supplied arms to Russia since the 2014 EU embargo as noted in this article in the Torygraph

Personally, I distrust the political motives of both countries, especially as Germany in particular has been so slow to deliver promised military aid to Ukraine

DW said Germany has agreed to supply additional heavy weapons. Easy to say harder to do.
A bit into the news article, it points out that some at least of Germany's weapons aren't being shipped from stock, they have to make them first. Ugh

Oh, they're sending 4 rocket launchers from stock. (wow - I wonder if these will have rockets...).
There's some detail in this chinese article:

They agreed to supply self-propelled howitzers - in late July! The Americans said they would supply M777 towed howitzers - and have done so. The Germans are dragging their feet for whatever reason - I suspect the reason is Russian gas

That clears what the tanks are for. Anti aircraft
Ukraine: On 26 April 2022, the German government authorised Krauss-Maffei Wegmann to transfer 50 Flakpanzer Gepard anti-aircraft vehicles to Ukraine.[6][7]Ukraine expects these units to enter service in July.

These are being taken out of reserve. I can't remember when some Ukrainians went to be trained to use them.

Some report suggests(?) that the germans supplied long range howitzers
But forgot ;) the ammunition / shells

some would suggest that tranny has been looking at unreliable reports, then.

Some look for ones that suite their general opinions as well. Reports can be misleading. Depends on the "angle" the reporter wants to take.

The missing german ammunition seemed to relate to an anti aircraft tank. Those taken out of reserve which may include some putting together. I've no idea but if intended for storage for years who knows. Seems they have been around for a while with electronics updates from time to time.

The 7 German pzh 2000 SP guns have yet to arrive, the 5 that the Dutch promised have arrived, the Gepard short range self propelled anti aircraft guns will arrive sometime in July with a small supply of ammunition, being Swiss made guns and ammo, the Swiss are not keen on Ukraine having them.

The Germans haven't supplied any howitzers, so far, despite having a large number in storage. They are long on promises, but short on delivery. The Ju;ly date I quoted earlier is from German media - the problem is that the Ukrainians need long range artillery in the Donbas now not in 2 months time

Yeah, but they're all going to be nice n warm with full bellies next winter . . . . .

The blurb on them

Actually I think 35mm is a standard round, probably NATO related. There seems to be a lot of use of it but no idea of the variations available.
