Putin, arse, elbow

some would suggest that tranny has been looking at unreliable reports, then.

some would suggest that your reports are un reliable ???

I generally include question marks in any thing I post up on this subject

report on the news about missiles hitting Kyiv , was said that the russinas did it in retaliation for western weapons going to Ukraine ?

how ever a Ukranian spokes person said it was in retaliation to the success of there armed forces in the east pushing russian forces back via a new offensive ?? aparrently they have reclaimed 50% of the city that the russians are attacking ????????

As said the Germans / French are the loose cannons in the so called alliance in the west ( and cannot be trusted)

fairly predictable imo

The blurb on them

Actually I think 35mm is a standard round, probably NATO related. There seems to be a lot of use of it but no idea of the variations available.
It is a Swiss made gun and the ammunition has to be a certain type which is now made by Rheinmetall based in Zurich, which is where the problems lie, the German army has very little in stock, and have been scouring the World for supplies.

Thought the Swiss were a neutral country ??

jeez us what a state of affairs , when some country has to rely on the Swiss for weapons and ammo

who dreamt up that policy ( the germans)
Swiss cukkoo clocks , referendums , dodgy banks and providing a few fruit cakes dressed in fancy dress with spears to protect the pope (?)

about sums em up imo

One of the only swiss blokes of any note was / is Fritz Egli and may be that bloke who hits a ball across a net

No, might be you really. Fact is Ukraine would have found kit like this extremely useful all along. It's defensive. The ammo problem might be stock or the Swiss saying no. They did seize Russian money.

Eg Russia used some sort of strategic bombers to take out part of an industrial estate in East Kyiv. This morning. Kyiv's report of type of aircraft and the use of missiles, a number of them.

It sounds like their longer range and other air defence stuff may have had it. The USA doesn't seem to use kit like this but some others do

It's worth remembering that as it stands France has provided more heavy artillery than we have. 18x 155mm self propelled 'Ceasar' guns.

We're going probably ahead in most categories but France is delivering. They were doing it quietly to avoid giving their Brexit equivalent something to get their teeth into.

The problem with a lot of reports is that they can be slanted in a variety of ways. TBH I don't think there is much point in sniping at some that are doing something. If there are problems they could be for all sorts of reasons, I'm wondering what a lot of ammunition is for a gun that shoots at 1,000 rounds per min.

The use of bomber deployed cruise missiles is interesting, mostly because it asks why they didn't use them before?

My bet is a lack of the previously used missiles. Russia did not have an infinite stockpile, now they're using ones that they still have in supply despite the increased risk to their strategic bomber force. Remember those are needed to protect against NATO invasion.

A NATO invasion of Ukraine may be possible. I wonder how many planes they would use. Russia itself - "a bit" complicated. I wondered how an attack on a NATO country would work out, Given nukes I suspect it would have to be fought in that country ??????????????????????

Rat Putin's comment about yet more weapon types from the west is sort of Oh well, will have to get more of my toys out. With these things they probably have a sort of loitering missile platform that can also observe. It can detect submarines too. Seems the newer version is a bit quieter than the old one. Maybe they can still carpet bomb with them.

Russia and stock. Thought to go - look at what is arrayed against them and have a bit more. They would need a supply line anyway.

UK's involvement. It's always been synced with the USA. Latest talks were about sending missile launchers - we are. A Ukraine poly visiting wanted the even longer range ones and though Boris might. Seems Biden wont.

Ukraine has always want heavier equipment right back to 2014. Various reports suggest that with artillery it may be more a case of matching than beating but who knows how accurate these reports are. This may be why the rockets have come into things.

BBC of late has pointed out that both sides like to report positive things and serious problems get classified.

:( I scratch my head on posturing sometimes. N Korea launch stuff. S Korea and the USA decide to launch stuff as well. |Loads of it. Nice video footage but what does it achieve?

do I believe that Putin has a stock of resources that would help him win the war, but has left unused in the shed?

No I don't.

I do. This isn't a war for survival, they don't have to commit fully. They have retained a stockpile in case the West attempts to push them back.

and what resources do you think are in this stockpile?

trucks commandeered from builders and milkmen? spare tyres? school busses?

rusty old tanks? retired ex-servicemen who could be re-conscripted?

No, a fraction of their top end kit that hasn't been released for active use in Ukraine. Cruise missiles etc.

They don't seem to have made much use of the Iskander vehicles with there mix of missiles including trick ones. They needn't leave Russia to use those. Can they hit anywhere in Europe? Probably which would make NATO's involvement "interesting". Maybe that is being accounted for by the west. It sounds messy though and would probably spread conflict areas. Then comes the nukes. This isn't me backing Russia.

It seems Russias T62's have come out. It seems this has happened before. Smooth bore so extended range compared with similar. Does it mean they are running out of newer tanks? Have they been updates in some way. Or is it an ok for what they want to do? Is the report correct?
