Rugby world cup.

The better class of rugby was no doubt played by Ireland and Scotland but the england Samoa match with it's errors and Farrells comedy sketch and the will they won't they beat them made for a better watch.
At last a close game after all that's gone before this last fortnight.
Samoa might win more if they did more training and got their stamina levels up, didn't seem the same team in the second half.
Danny Care might start next game the Samoans certainly had Mitchells number.

Looks like the Irish had been practising their jigs then!
Samoa had too many incidents off the ball for me.
Japan were easy to read, always the same line out strategy and the Argies punished them with their scorching wingers.
I think Scotland were always going to struggle in that pool.
Next rounds will tell a tale.

Even contest, made for good viewing rather than the one sided affairs of late and not much time lost going upstairs.
Red card? Become a bit of a lottery.

Portugal v Fiji
3 a piece, halftime.
England v Australia? hmm.
Turns out England get Fiji after all - how did they manage to cock it up against Portugal? Baffling. All they needed was a bonus point to go through to meet the Welsh. Maybe they fancied their chances are better against the English. :D

Odds, Fiji and Wales are in the same group...

The second half was probably sponsored by Carling. Certainly one of the best 40 minutes of rugby this time around. Portugal enjoyed the win anyway. I thought the yellow card was about right and Luke Pearce had a good game on the whole.

Great win for Portugal, they deserved that.
Is it time to reconsider the way European nations can qualify for the Six Nations tournament?
Italy have had 20 years to improve and still haven't really kicked on any further than they were when they started; so why not a play-off between the bottom team (Italy) in the SN and the winner of a second tier tournament to see who gets to play with the big boys?
They could hold the qualifiers during the Autumn Internationals, perhaps.
