Unless I'm misreading your post, if the recent riots had simply been peaceful (in the true sense of the word) protests and not riots, there would have been no arrests surely?

But they weren't peaceful protests, they were full scale riots.

One could argue that a march must be communicated to the police by the organisers.
But the protests weren't marches, and I assume neither the right wing extremists informed the police, nor the counter protesters.

Agree - but the issue with rioting is the offences all escalate without any real difference in the guilty mind.

The pro Hamas protestors mostly got away with suspended sentences, primarily because the protests were largely peaceful. Had the so called far right protests occurred peacefully the government would actually have a real problem on their hands.

There is another way that could be used. Make IP addresses of posters available. That can then be used to find out who via the ISP's. IP addresses can be misleading but ways are well known. Also not a good idea to make them easily available to all.

Yeah just seen it. It'll be interesting to see if Farage et al wait until the persons details are formally released or jump the gun. I suspect their approach will be governed by the colour of the persons skin and their nationality.

Do you have any specific cases to refer to concerning those suspended sentences you mentioned regarding the Palestinian protests? I've not found any. Ideally, I'd like to be able to compare the sentencing comments from the judge with those convicted in these far right riots.

Given the last comment in the video I wouldn't assume that will continue. The concentration in this area is usually radicalisers. For instance a recent one had been given 5 years. Quiet for a while then starts trying to build up networks in N. America. Sentence 25 years. May not live through it.

Bit daft though - police could have just said investigating. Given a rather driven video I would wonder about that as well. No doubt more news will follow.

That's if the usual culprits can contain themselves.
