Tory Leadership Race

Who are these non tax paying rich people that you dream of?

You understand that those who are leaving are among the 1% who pay 28% of all income tax.

I’m not the one who thinks the millionaires who say they will leave are bluffing, while ignoring the fact that many already have.

But you don’t care as long as others pay more for the services you want to use.

There are already a number of places that are more favourable, tax wise, than the UK.

And yet, you continue to insist that "the millionaires" will leave, because of "tax".

If "tax" is that important to them, why are they still here?

It's all noise!

Threats.

because someone is looking to change the rules.

Somewhat ironic that the super rich threatening to leave the uk are already non resident and non doms. Tax them based on citizenship or make them renounce it.

You mean those ultra wealthy people who pay themselves millions whilst forcing employees to work for peanuts.

U.K. has massive wealth inequality.
The U.K. has far lower living standards than equivalent economies

The system is rigged in favour of the wealthy……that’s what happens when billionaires own the media and persuade people to vote Tory for decades.

Do you have any examples?

Majority of people living in poverty are in work, report finds

Charles Cotton, senior reward and performance adviser at the CIPD, said there were many contributing factors to in-work poverty, but described low wages as a “key component”

If people are working and suffering poverty, they aren’t being paid enough.

Why are the CEOs of these large corporations earning £1m + when their workers are on starvation wages.

The first sentence doesn’t say anything other than there are many contributing factors one of which is low pay. Well that’s kinda obvious. The issue is what causes the low pay. Low skill, commodity skill, low business value etc.

There are two ways to look at this:

1. They should be paid more because they can’t live on their wages.

2. They should be helped to develop more valuable skills so they can earn more.

I like 2, you like 1. We won’t agree
