UK voltage

I moved a big branch from the road earlier and heard several bangs just a few minutes ago so i suspect there's more down.
Well I've lost a couple of fence panels, actually lost, can't see them.

Voltage always very close to 230V here.

Forget ~@winston/GeorgeCooke and his fictitious makey/uppey 240V.

What is so surprising about that? Voltage in NI was always 230v. It was done because gear came into the area both from Eire (220v) and mainland UK (240v).

Nothing made up about 240v. It is fact. Unlike your made up GeorgeCooke. Unless I've missed him I see no one of that name on these forums.

It is very obvious that Winston1 and GeorgeCooke have the same ideas about UK voltages, FCUs and sockets on lighting circuits to mention but three of their common fetishes.

It beggers belief that two separate individual persons have not only the same ( mis guided ) opinions but have also typed identical texts on these matters

Of course the measured voltage varies all over the shop.
However the issue is that at least till it was explained to him, Winston1 thought that 'nominal' meant 'average' or 'typical', so keeps claiming that the nominal voltage is not 230V. In spite of the fact that he theoretically now knows the truth, he still keeps making statements showing that he doesn't really grasp it.

241.15 again here.

It's not from solar because it's very cloudy

I can help you there

That's got to be the same bloke, they're exactly the same comments :D.

On second thoughts, London is a very big place, so it could be coincidence.

The infinite monkey theorem states that a monkey hitting keys at random on a typewriter keyboard for an infinite amount of time will almost surely type any given text, such as the complete works of William Shakespeare.

Hence two monkeys hitting keys at random on two typewriter keyboards for an infinite amount of time could post identical texts to their chosen forums.

I suppose they could both join the same forum, and post on the same topics, in absolute harmony.
