the evidence is public, the clear evidence of capital gain is public, the lack of understanding of the rules is public, the attempt to cover up the mistake is public, the lying about where she was actually living is public.

What isn't public is if she and her ex-husband quietly contacted HMRC to correct the filing or if HMRC have invited her to do so.

It's quite common for HMRC to invite you to review your filing when they are aware of a possible error. None of this hits the press.

Actually no, no one can see anything of the sort.

Capital gains is a very tricky area, back in 2016 the rule book ran to some 460 pages. You did not have to live at a property to declare it your main residence.... living somewhere and your main residence are actually two separate issues under tax law.

As I said at the start, she made a mistake and misunderstood tax rules that for her were probably a new experience. Her bigger mistake was to try to cover it up by lying.

When Labour win the election, she will have to stop being the angry gobsh*te and start being accountable. You can see her weakness and Keir will need to manage her swiftly as he did all the other problems.

I wonder if her ex neighbours told porkies? She's done very well for herself regardless of anybodies personal views. Maybe she was living with hubby and they wanted to stick the knife in. Who knows.
