except that if we follow the links, we find that Brig made three false allegations, which he had made up.

An admission that your posts said nothing then.

Wholly expected though; try to lord it over other posters, while committing to nothing at all.

Great contributions (y)

Are you denying the existence of the Coronavirus?
Are you denying the existence of a bio-security level 4 research facility in Wuhan?
Are you denying that the current consensus is that the pandemic began in or close to Wuhan?

have you seen me doing any of those things?

So, you agree that Coronavirus exists.
So, you agree that there is a bio - security level 4 lab. in Wuhan.
So, you agree that the consensus is that this pandemic started in or near Wuhan.

Glad we're in agreement.

have you seen me doing any of those things?

Are you worried about your hallucinations? You should be.

Like I said, wouldn't commit, added nothing.

I've just been reading an article about the perils (for want of a better word) of sedation, intubation, and ventilation.
Standard response to low blood oxygen levels.
However, in covid patients, such low blood oxygen levels are not accompanied by the usual gasping etc.
In short, the physicians don't know why.

Consequently, trying to up the blood oxygen level by forcing more and more oxygen into the lungs, at greater and greater pressures, is causing more lung damage than it is, assisting the patients. Some Wuhan hospitals are reporting better results with nasal cannulas, than with full and aggressive ventilation.

This crisis has shown how poorly prepared we were for this. Not just from the time it emerged in the news, but before. We have, or had, massive supplies of PPE, all in warehouses miles from anywhere, with not logistics in place to move them quickly. In hindsight, every local authority should have its own stockpiles ready for emergencies that they can quickly distribute to the people who need it. So much could be done better.

But for now, we just need to get through this, whether its another month or 1-2 years, the government needs to get its fingers out and sort the mess out.

Survival when ventilation is needed is around 50%. A leaked memo that the Times posted mentioned keep people off them a long as possible and don't take them off too soon as some will need to go back on again. Bit mixed really considering increasing length of time on them isn't good. Also mention of dehydration and kidney failure. Usually taken care of by a kidney machine. Also too much use of a drug that dehydrates people - just the thing to cause kidney problems. There are also machines which keep blood oxygenated. The treatment tool suggests some may go on one. There has now been 2 mentions about the Nightingales - go there to recover or for palliative care.

A doctor mentioned that the F1 pressurised breathing aid kept 50% of people of the ventilator so bound to save lives. The F1 ventilator is a very simple device as are the old ones. Newer preferred but no info on why.

Now differences in death rates are being mentioned on the beeb. I looked at that across England, Scotland, Wales and N Ireland. They seem to relate to the number of people being treated or perhaps ethnic aspect but the difference at the time for England was rather large. It's now been mentioned that it was worse in some areas than London.

Better numbers today - even accounting for the weekend.

Hypoxia level differ hugely depending on whether is localised or whole body and the fitness of the individual.
75-100 can be without symptom and even normal for some people. Below 60 can result in almost instant death.

that blue line certainly picks out the weekend.

was a bit disappointed at todays numbers, I had hoped we were on the turn.
We're on the turn, just haven't finished rounding the corner yet.

The data is 'lumpy', you'll see spikes and dips. Even today's higher number might just be an oddity just as the 20th was a low oddity. That's why you should look more at the 7 day average. It gives a much clearer picture.
