Big Numbers today

Another angle is to look at days of the week as it smooths the reporting issues better. Slightly impacted by Easter break, but the last 3 weeks we are better this week 5 out of 7 days.

Judging by the idiots out in force today, we're in for another death spike in 2 - 3 weeks time. Looking on the news and 'net and speaking to my daughter in North London, she said people were actually having picnics in the local parks when she went out for a run. She gave up and went home, just too many groups out.

It will be crowd pressure that relaxes the rules. Easing is coming irrelevant of the numbers.

It's tricky but I think the best option is hospital entries. Deaths are emotive so attractive but there is a delay per person of literally hours to 3 weeks. Hours seem to be rare. 11 days has been mentioned as mean.

Problem really is all is random - how many catch it on a day, how many recover and how many die so an averaged hospital entry is probably the best option. Bed usage might be better than all. It has dropped but other aspects haven't shown much change really.

What would she have thought had they all been running?

I really think the Government made a mistake when they specifically mentioned exercise and tried to define what was allowed.

Exactly the same. No different to me and the wife - when we take our dog out for a walk and to get some exercise, we end up zig zagging across the road to avoid others but if there’s too many people out and about, we come straight home.

I don't expect much other than what others have done - some types of shops allowed to open. They have been pretty clear that social distancing will and must remain - pretty obvious really. Muttering about Scots and etc ministers providing details is rubbish. They haven't only said changes will be slight just like our lot have. Doesn't stop the press continuously asking about it. The press questions during the brief are often of no interest at all,

Interesting comment on the brief today about fruit etc picking. Doesn't matter at the moment as not much needs doing. That changes in June so how to get people on furlough in some cases to do it? Being discussed. They have been flying some pickers in so who knows what will happen. June? Bang goes May for some. Also talk about arranging for volunteers to shop for people who don't have younger family to do it for them while maintaining isolation.

A Swedish lady popped up on the news around it. Not forcing anything but relying on people doing the right thing voluntarily. Having worked there and noticed certain things I can sort of see how that might work out but elsewhere ??????????? There gov does things rapidly at times and it doesn't seem to cause problems so maybe they trust them. ;) Probably because they generally do things that work even if save the planet style.

Austria is down to less than 10 cases a day so having small protests about lock down. Wonder how many we will continue to have.

The tracking ap will be available shortly. Go near some one with it or thinks they have it and N are requested to self isolate. Testing doesn't seem to figure.

Pillar 4 testing is expected to go on for 12 months.

Spain has relaxed that - within 1km of their home. Adults shortly but that will be the rule.

I have to do that walking around our local square but not often. Grass verges in places so wide anyway. 50% or so get out of the way of their own accord. So apart from cars things are quiet and those are far from usual levels. I may try the park - or just a look and see shortly
