EV are they worth it?

Brother has just come back from Czech Republic. Said take up of EVs there hardly registers. CZ number plates start with 'EL' if it's a battery vehicle. Sounds about right. :giggle: He made a point of looking for cars with EL prefixes, but saw hardly any. Even in smart areas of Prague where you would image you could find those with more money than sense.

Was talking to someone over there who is a car mechanic and restores his own cars. Told my brother that Czechs just aren't interested in EVs. Looks like, once again, they have more sense than us and politicians don't force these contraptions on an unwilling public. We could resist this if we had anyone awake in this country.

An individual who is obsessed with clapped out old bangers doesn't like electric cars.

Meanwhile in the real world

politicians don't force these contraptions on an unwilling public.
No one is being forced to buy an electric car, or any other type of car.

The million or so electric cars currently in use in the UK were not forced on anyone. People chose to buy/lease them. They could just as easily have chosen a petrol or diesel car.

Gosh! And the Czech Republic is usually famous for being world-leading when it comes to technological advances... :ROFLMAO:

Next you'll be telling us you've got a mate in Sierra Leone who reckons camels are the way forward...

This is how threads should be.
Gentle ribbing and pizz-taking, no harm intended nor offence taken. (y)

You ICE fanboys are still dumb cave-dwellers though ;) :ROFLMAO:

:)
Who by? The non-existent traffic police?
Plus, given the standard of driving nowadays, someone being asleep at the wheel would not be obviously worse than half of the morons are while awake :ROFLMAO:
And that's true of ice as well as ev , probably more so, in ice

Take a look at the "anyone know how to fix this?" threads in the Cars sections.

ICE, or EV? ;)

True, but I suppose most EVs are either quite new, or been scrapped by now. :giggle: Therefore none will be troubling the experts in the car sections.

The little bit extra time spent on ICE maintenance is massively offset by not having to sit around in McDonalds car park drinking coffee to keep warm (surprisingly their coffee is very good though - and much better value than Costalot), trying to force some volts into a battery.
