Is he Right?? Tory That Blames Foodbanks Use on Those that "Can't Cook, Budget"

Many people prefer to ignore the problems, or deny they exist, rather than accept that the Uk has a poverty problem.

Please don't confuse poverty with a lack of ready £cash. Having little or no income coming in is NOT poverty if they have assets which can be converted in the long term. Most of these foodbank users have no ready money thanks to the way the benefits system works.

Incidentally, there was a campaign a few years ago to raise funds & start a breakfast club at our nearest infants school. Dork got into a lot of trouble when he pointed out the ring leaders weren't so much interested in kiddies going to school with empty bellies, but somewhere to park their kids so they could start the 1hr+ commute at a more convenient time. If Dork thought any of those kids were underpriveledged he'd cook breakfast for 'em everyday.

A guide in Finland mentioned that their school day is tied to the working day so that it is easier for people to work. Mind you that might not have included a 1hr commute time.

Japan has a rather high child suicide rate. It's hard to find reasons for it as a high proportion are unknown but there is a feeling that at least some of it is down to achievement levels and future prospects in general. Schools are a little different

Japan initially had parental style companies - much like the UK did. Of late they have dreamed up a variety of people control methods for companies to use. In fact people control is a sort of business. A senior manager may try various ideas and then tell others what happened.

Pay in some technical areas are way way higher than in the UK. Similar crops up in the EU areas and actually in the USA as well.

I agree with some of your assertions, however I'd dispute the 90% figure.

It's undoubtedly true that many people, to varying degrees, live (financially) beyond their means, whether in work or on benefits. Too many examples to give e.g. leasing nice cars they don't really need, a house that's excess to actual requirements, buying lots of stuff day to day. People on benefits or low income prioritising the wrong things over paying rent and/or utilities.

However it's not everyone that takes that approach. And I'll repeat, the high majority of the blame for the socioeconomic stability of a country sits squarely with government, and business.

It's a cliche, but decades ago people could walk out of school and to an extent be guaranteed a job. However with much of industry being depleted over recent decades, much of those avenues no longer exist. And yes, I know there 'are' jobs out there, however it's not always that straightforward depending on your location etc.

Fair enough, we will agree to disagree. However and in your favour and I touched on it in my post, more people will get hit as prices rise and these new people into brealine or worse are those that have worked hard, are working hard but cant keep up with the rises.

What I suggest to these people is cut back on everything, do without things you can manage without and keep your head above water.
If you are of working age, a few extra hours at another work place may earn you 60 to 100 quid a week and that will go a long way on what you already have

As a culture we allowed ourselves to become wage slaves on the promise that this was a good thing. Many cultures have resisted this & remain family centric, we call them lazy & idle & lethargic & primitive & ... ... ...

One of the best aspects of the way I ran my Co' was the time flexibility afforded to the subbies. They could drop their kids off / pick them up, have a few days off between jobs etc etc etc.

Try as I might I haven't seen any of these poverty-stricken souls about our towns and cities. Little barefoot urchins with chimney brushes over their shoulders and the like. Where are they all? Do they only exist in DIYNotland?

Why would they be in town? Poor people don't tend to go to John Lewis and Starbucks.

Try as I might
Which schools have you visited? Did you speak to any pastoral staff that deal with these children daily? Could have been a school holiday when you took your head out of your ass? In that case, did you visit their homes?

Perhaps you view it as odd that you missed them down at your local boozer..? Try my arse.

I might ask you, and all the other virtue-signalers on here, the same thing.

Oh look Fillyboy desperately looking to deflect from the massive failure of the LIARS in charge of this country,

this country wouldn’t be in such a mess without Tory corruption and Brexit.

Nope, just pointing out the absurdity of blaming it on the Tories, it's a 'problem' in many wealthy countries.

It's a stupid thing to say, even if there may be some truth in it. Some people can't cook, some people are too stupid to cook, some people are too lazy to cook. Changing that might well be a good thing, but it isn't going to dramatically change fortunes when fuel accounts for 25% of income.
