1800 people killed by the IRA during the troubles, I would call that mass murder
In the 1970's or later?Nothing compared to all the women the church killed, using "witch trials" as an excuse to kill outspoken women
Much earlier than that! 1700s? Tens of thousands of women killed for no reason other than they refused to believe in the church's religion. Well, some were killed for political reasons, others for their money. In the 1970's or later?
Exactly. How far back do you want to go? CB was talking about murders in relatively recent history.Much earlier than that! 1700s?

Catholics are still killing people in NI...Wasn't replying to that, but the general comment that Catholics don't tend to kill people, and considered safer.
You can't just say "oh, it was a long time ago", because it really wasn't all that long ago.
The 17th century would be more accurate; by the mid 18th century they'd become very rare.Much earlier than that! 1700s? Tens of thousands of women killed for no reason other than they refused to believe in the church's religion. Well, some were killed for political reasons, others for their money.
No, it is not.1800 people killed by the IRA during the troubles, I would call that mass murder
but if it is a mental health issue then apparently more police forces are going to turn a blind eye until a crime has actually been committed...
Although there are many things the government needs to tighten up on around this, no matter how robust the system, it can never be full-proof. For example, we could let 100 people in that have gone through robust checks and they all meet the requirements. Then, x years later, one of them could go off the rails perhaps in quite a dramatic way. I'll reiterate, I am not excusing the way things currently are, it's a mess. However my assertion is even with better checks, people can go off the rails at any point in their life. With immigration said to be on target (it does appear there's a target) to hit 700,000 this year, it's not just the small boats that need sorting. We'll know very little about the others who come here - waved through by soft touch immigration. You would want to know exactly who you're admitting into your house. Should be the same for this country, for the safety and security of the indigenous population.
