Unless Trump and his administration are playing some sort of subversive tactical game here (i.e. with Russia not aware) then it is indeed extremely worrying. If what we're seeing play out in the media is the reality of Trump's stance, then yep, we're essentially on our own. And without an adequately resourced defence system.

I do wonder what the Republican party is making of it all. Reports suggest a growing number of them are 'watching with interest' when it comes to both domestic and international affairs.

The irony of the word dictator being used against Zelensky is off the scale.

He is supposed to be the master of the deal, so maybe it is all part of the plan.

I hadn't read that anywhere. I was under the impression they are all fully in the tank for Trump.

hang on a minuit, I was the one saying these peace talks hopefully would stop the war. It might just do that. But now some details have been released it appears that he has sold us all down the river. That is a dangerous situation.

Nato without USA is worthless.

Europe was always the eastern defence area of USA, and why they were always keen to support NATO.

Right now NATO looks fragile, and I am not actually convinced USA would respond as they are supposed to if any nato country was attacked. I think nato is also looking fragile in being kept alive by Trump.

He seems happy to discard europe (and therefore nato), and that leaves us very exposed.

These are very dangerous times, don't underestimate Russia (overt aggresion), or China walking in. Trump is being played and is losing badly, just llok at the outright lies about Ukraine he is stating.

If USA stop funding and military support, as you say Europe does not have an adequately resourced defence system to continue supporting Ukraine.

Kyiv for example is protected by Patriot missile defence system, if USA withdraw support Russia can bomb Kyiv to destruction.

If Russia wanted to bomb Kyiv they would have done so by now. Russia could easily flatten Ukraine if they put their full military might behind them.

They have bombed Kyiv with missiles, but it's too dangerous for their aircraft to get close for glide bombs as Ukraines anti aircraft missiles are very capable. Russia's air force has taken heavy losses in their close air support formations.

I wonder what full military might you think Russia hasn't been using?
