If Russia wanted to bomb Kyiv they would have done so by now. Russia could easily flatten Ukraine if they put their full military might behind them.

Concur with Transam, Ukraine have had conditional use of US/Eu supplied weapons, which has somewhat supressed the damage they could ultimately inflict, in contrast early on Russia were using Cruise/Thermobaric/Cluster munitions Iskanders, hypersonics etc, almost everything Russia had including all their stockpiles of T60/72,90's etc are almost gone now, whilst leaning on North Korea.
Far from flattening Ukraine, yes they could with Nuclear option but so could any super power but we all know where that will end.
As Transam has mentioned also prisoners freed on the condition they fight for their country. They have literally thrown everything at this 'special military operation'

Not really as Trump does really badly when engaging with dictators and strong men leaders. Putin is just as capable at playing the madman as Trump but is smarter and better at it.

There's plenty if you look for them. They don't looking like the movies with people running shoulder to shoulder but just throwing waves of troops knowing you'll lose nearly every man is well established in Russian doctrine. Search for Storm Z units or how Russia used their penal and punishment battalions.

The Russian military associates taking losses as being decisive. If youre not taking losses you're not pushing hard enough. However that can translate to taking losses being enough to show your superiors you're trying hard.

The key for me is to what extent Trump was triggered by Zelenskyy into saying what he actually believes. There are plenty of people who have worked with Trump who think he lives in a disinformation bubble. If so, that is really scary when it comes to matters of war and peace. And then there are plenty of others who think he is fully aware of the truth and that this is all just a tactic.
