Tory Leadership Race

Cleverly out.
I though that would happen. White male next - I am tempted to think that.

Cleverly pitched that all of the leaders they have had was great and he fully supported all. That is one of the aspects that made me think he would be out. LOL He will support any of the others. He may add his support to the one that offers him the best job.

May is the only one that has mentioned the need for some sort of change in general policy. Look what happened to her.

They have lessons to learn - it doesn't look like they are ready to learn them. Still plenty of time to get their s**t together.
somebody said before the last election it would take 2 iterations of Conservative leadership before they returned to the on e nation Conservatives that make up the main core of the party

It seems a number of competing vote-lending schemes from the Tory moderates went badly wrong. The moderates had assumed Cleverly was guaranteed a place in the final two. Some moderates wanted him to face Jenrick, because they thought he might then have a better chance of winning the run-off . Some moderates can't stand Jenrick, because he is willing to say absolutely anything to become leader, so they voted for Badenoch. The upshot was they were far too clever for their own good, and now they have the two right wingers in the final stage.

I'm tempted to say it's another nail in their coffin, but Keir might just save them.

The future constant barracking and negativity , pressure groups and lobbying will eventually wear Starmer down. If the rich and powerful don't get enough influence on him, they will try to drive him out. Britain has always excelled at media manipulation and controlled information.

Far-rage wrongly predicted a torey stitch up i.e. a centrist leader. He must be worried that two candidates almost as right wing as him are the final choices. I reckon Kenrick will win, he has out manoeuvred Cleverly and will have something on Chemmi.

Some pundits for various reason reckon an upcoming psycho drama. No reasons for one of them. Good at putting her foot in her mouth for one. The other one - read his history. Unusually strong comment from them.

I suspect their usual method of fixing the final result has worked. Rumoured of unregistered mobiles to keep track of actual voting as it happens. Or maybe they just sort it out that way before voting or in private as each disappear. It looks like few MP's wanted clever. Looks like their party members would have liked him. Some now complaining that they have a hard decision to make given 2 RW's.
