Very bad start for Labour, can't see them lasting a full term of government.
The ghost of Tony Blair and champagne socialism in Starmer.

Rather ambiguous as far as opinion pieces go. I'm not getting the point or relevance of the article, other than it points out there are disgruntled back stabbers in politics (surprise surprise - not).

I don't whether to say that this is a pointless thread or a pointless (fluff out the pages) opinion piece.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t think the article answered the headline.

They will last. Or they will call an early election before new conservatives get their act together.

The £170k a year is a non story

At the moment I agree, but free gear Keir has already had to quell dissent among MP's about the power she wields, this will add fuel to the fire and it will become a 'story'.

And if she had no sway, the headlines would be that she wasn't worth the salary.

The meeja do some great investigative work sometimes, and others........ they're pathetic hypocrites.

It looks to me like the BBC politics page had a paragraph that needed filling. Then a Daily Wail reader got hold of it and all manner of blarney followed.

It’s odd how AndyDevon never made a single post complaining about Tories getting freebies

Like Matt whilst health Secretary getting £32,000 from a think tank that campaigns for NHS privatisation.

I don’t remember AndDevon complaining about Owen Paterson pocketing £500,000 from Randox…..which got huge govt contracts

I don’t remember AndyDevon complaining about Boris Johnson being given £100,000 for redecorating his flat

AndyDevon is quite happy about gifts when it’s his team.

Personally I think it is totally wrong Starmer has received so much in gifts and I would want to see whether it could result in policy influence.
