Who exactly is a 'working person' according to Labour?

We were thinking of selling our workshop next year. If he goes silly on CGT, we'll keep it and just rent it out.
be sure to tak expert advice....

If any business can make healthy profits, regardless of costs, they will keep making them. Budget or no budget.

No body is going to close any business because their profit MIGHT be impacted.

You keep saying that, but you don't say what fiscal policies you didn't like.
Hmm, austerity.

Too few people getting richer whislt the lower worker cant afford to live, let alone buy somewhere to live.

It's not rocket science, the country had a vote.

So you'll be happy with Austarity 2.0 and a recession under labour?

If it gets worse than what we've had, not really.

But I can't see that. I can see some tough times, but we need that.

Honestly do you think the Tories were doing well with the economy ?

Yes. The failings were the squabling and the divison. The economic problems are largely a hang over from Covid shutfowns. Our productivity issues are mainly limited to public sector. Tax and spend wont change the quality of servies if you don't try to fix the issues and if you hit people hard they will simply sit on their assets or take steps to reduce their other taxes.

The way you fund the public sector is to have a strategy that makes the UK an attractive place to do business. So far the mood music under labour is not looking good.

Going to have to disagree then.

Truss is just 1 example. The Tories have done the UK economy no favours at all. Even the OBR thinks so too.

No doubt Labour will be considering how they can penetrate the wrappers around ISAs ...
You reckon. Suppose it's a possibility. Lots of data on them would be needed and most now seem to be more interested in their pension pot.
some pain for the electorate
Sounds more like which services can be supported and improved with the money available. They had already announced some expenditure cuts but we didn't get details. Some schools need rebuilding. More prisons mentioned. As they said a pretty thorough spending review.

Eeeeeek I remember John Snow asking just why he got a state pension as he has no need for it.

Because he asked for it.

"You will not get your new State Pension automatically - you have to claim it.

You’ll need:

  • the date of your most recent marriage, civil partnership or divorce
  • the dates of any time spent living or working abroad
  • your bank or building society details
  • any social security numbers that you have for foreign state pension schemes
If you’re applying online, you’ll also need the invitation code from the letter about getting your State Pension."

one big hit, wont acheive the result you are looking for. People will sit on their gains and hope for a new government in a few years.
I'm not looking for any. You don't understand Labour's overall aim which in a sense is no different to the basic Tory one. It's another way of achieving the same aim. Just when will your be chucking your billions into the productive aspects of our economy? Or maybe a 1/2 b mentioned more recently.
