There's lot of reasons for and against the carnival(s).

I've never been and it has no interest to me, but they do for others.

Cost, manpower, disruption, enjoyment, profits etc.

But stabbings will still happen, carnival or not. It's a false argument.

It's like saying the people with knives etc are sitting there saying.

"Well if there's no carnival i might as well get rid of the knives and guns"

Don't conflate the carnival with being a reason for stabbing.

Stop football matches and you’d have less hooligans kicking off.

All you have to do is prove how stopping the carnival will stop stabbings.

I agree it's pointless if you can't.

The people that go out to stab will still go out and stab, carnival or not.

It's another 3 word slogan. "Stop the carnival" It needs meat on the bone to mean anything.

It would certainly lower the chances.

Life is risky. I don't think the carnival has gotten so bad that it needs cancelled.
